    • Skip, on a cell phone: "Hey, Cal. Yeah, I'm still in Washington. It's been kind of hard to leave..."
    • "First I tried the metro, but apparently these humans enjoy running in front of trains almost as much as squirrels enjoy running in front of cars." A squirrel stands between two humans, looking at his watch. Announcement: "Attention: All trains delayed indefinitely."
    • "I even went to the Department of Squirrels... but that didn't turn out so well, either." Squirrel receptionist: "I'm sorry, sir, but you seem to be 3 years behind on your taxes." Skip, alarmed: "Who, me?"
    • "Don't worry, though. I've been spending my time here well." From the Capitol Building: "Wait, there's an earmark on this bill: 'All squirrels shall be guaranteed a steady supply of acorns.' What in the world!?" Skip giggles outside.

This is the sequel to Skip's recent protest. Presumably he managed to escape the Secret Service after trying to drop that acorn on the president's head.

This work originally appeared in the Cardinal Courier, the award-winning student-run newspaper at St. John Fisher College, between 2007 and 2011.
