    • A trash can is labeled "Recyclables only". A recycling bin is labeled "Trash only". A squirrel asks, "Why are the labels of these bins reversed?" A cardinal answers, "So many people throw recyclables in the trash that they figured this might just work better!"

    This Might Work Better

    Seriously, people. Use a little extra brainpower to determine which bin you should throw your item in. Think of it like a puzzle -- and if you win, your great grandchildren get to live a little longer.

    This work originally appeared in the Cardinal Courier, the award-winning student-run newspaper at St. John Fisher College, between 2007 and 2011.
