    • Frame 1: A TV announcer announces, "Today on 'America's Rodents", we will explore the phenomenon known as the 'college campus squirrel'. Frame 2: Announcer: "Here we see the 'normal' eastern gray squirrel (_sciurus carolinensis_), carefully maintaining a safe distance from the human." A squirrel and human look at one another from a safe distance. Frame 3: "Compare to that the 'college campus squirrel' (_sciurus academius_), which gladly allows a human to approach, fearing no harm. Fascinating!" A squirrel excitedly thinks, "Got any food? Maybe some peanut butter cookies?" The human jumps away in shock, exclaiming, "Yah! Get away!"

As I think is typical for a semi-secluded place like a college campus, the squirrels at Fisher were very friendly. This comic closely reflects the actual behavior of the many squirrels on campus.

This cartoon (possibly) marks Skip Squirrel’s first appearance.

This work originally appeared in the Cardinal Courier, the award-winning student-run newspaper at St. John Fisher College, between 2007 and 2011.
